Keeping multilingual product information in sync
When product details change, identify which translations need updating and who will approve them for each market.

The workflow illustrates a possible design and is not a client case study.
- Detect source changes
- Translate and review
- Publish approved versions
When translations lag behind the source
A changed size or care instruction may never reach the translated pages. Translating one page at a time also makes it easier to alter model numbers, units or brand names. Keep a common source record and distinguish translation from content that intentionally differs by market.
Check the store’s translation tools
Shopify Translate & Adapt handles translated and market-specific content. For one store, check its supported resource types first. A shared review process may be useful when several websites, an ERP or a large product catalogue must stay in step.
Flag translations that need review
Start with one product category and two languages. Agree terminology and fields that must not change. When the source changes, flag the affected translations for review. Publish approved text and retain the source version each translation was based on.
Verify models, units and formatting
Check model numbers, sizes, HTML, missing translations, withdrawn source text and repeated runs. Ask reviewers who understand both the product and the language to inspect the actual store, including what appears when a translation is missing.
Bring terminology and market differences
Bring the product fields, target languages, terminology and differences between markets. Identify who approves the product details and each translation.
